Rescue Story
Kristy Van Guilder – Volunteer Spotlight
Kristy discovered a new calling through fostering and medical support work.
“I was a federal law enforcement officer for over 20 years. Then, a medical incident left me legally blind in one eye, and I had to retire. I felt lost—like I had no purpose. Then I found Saving Grace.” Kristy discovered a new calling through fostering and medical support work. One dog, Pearl, always got extra pets before they left. Another, Jax, was a foster who battled pneumonia and mange for six weeks—and won. “The dogs rescued me. Their tail wags and kisses make me smile. Seeing them get adopted warms my heart.” Saving Grace gives dogs a second chance—and sometimes, it gives people one too.
