Kristy V, foster (Jax)
Jax was our second foster—but our first medical foster—just three months old when we brought him home from Saving Grace in May 2025. He was incredibly sick: emaciated, covered in mange, and suffering from a severe respiratory infection that turned into pneumonia. He lay in his crate struggling to breathe, with a deep, painful cough—it was heartbreaking to watch.

With six weeks of medications, vet visits, baths, and constant care, Jax slowly began to recover. There were moments I wasn’t sure he would make it, and I shed more than a few tears. But then his spark returned. He started acting like a happy puppy again, and the joy came back to his eyes.
Jax was one of the most challenging yet rewarding fosters I’ve ever had. When he was ready, he was adopted the same day he returned to the farm—finally finding the loving home he deserved.
Since then, I’ve continued fostering, welcoming many different pups into our home. Each one is unique, and every experience is rewarding. I’m grateful to play even a small part in their journey on the way to their forever homes.
