Thankful For Our Supporters
I recently attended several of our events and was reminded of the true resilience of our shelter dogs. We are fortunate to gain support for our organization as adopters learn about Saving Grace, many from community events. Once they come to the farm and choose a dog they are not only grateful for their new companion, but want to support other dogs in need coming along behind their adoptee.
It is overwhelmingly amazing to see how a loving home can change the life of an animal. Our shelter dogs often arrive very thin, with poor hair coats due to inconsistent nutrition, and a heavy parasite burden. They lack confidence, security and are unsettled without a consistent environment and family. The dogs often look completely different after they have settled into a home. With bright eyes focused on their people and soft shiny coats covering their bones, they have finally completed their adoption journey. Seeing these dogs makes it possible to continue going to shelters, facing the cruelty and neglect and managing all things “Saving Grace.” I only wish all my shelter partners and animal control buddies could see the happy endings they were often the starting point for.
I am so grateful to everyone in our community who offers their home for foster care, volunteers their time, donates financially, promotes adoption and supports Saving Grace in the many roles it takes to see these animals through their adoption journey. You are truly helping us transform sad beginnings into happy endings and we could not do it without you.
