Ruffin’ it in Robeson – Spring Fever!
It has been a busy few weeks here at SG Robeson County!
We kicked off spring by attending the Carolina’s Unite Shelter Conference at the end of February. It was a good learning opportunity in regard to issues different shelters face and how they work with partners to improve the lives of animals and people.
Next it was off to the Carolina Peddler’s St.PawTrick’s Pawty to raise awareness about spay/neuter. We are thankful for the local support from businesses such as Carolina Peddler, LLC, where we also happen to have a puppy pawtique filled with great pet and people goods.
The Lumberton Area Chamber of Commerce visited us recently to help celebrate the One year anniversary of Saving Grace Robeson County opening it’s door. Since that day, over 622 dogs/puppies and 78 cats/kittens have been transported to our main facility in Wake Forest! In honor of the anniversary, we held a St.Pawtrick’s open house where treats and tours (plus puppy visits)were offered. It was a barking good time!
Like most rescues we depend on donations and supporters for survival. Without them we cannot do what we do for the animals. Volunteers are the lifeblood of rescue. Areas most in need are:
- Daily care, feeding and exercise for our animals.
- Grounds keeping and Gardening.
- Transport drivers to take the pups to the Wake Forest location.
- Fosters to help take care of puppies or sick animals.
- Administrative tasks such as Intake documents, copying, filing, and social media updates.
Current Supply needs:
- Monetary donations for vet costs.
- Laundry detergent.
- Canned puppy food.
- Super large trash bags.
- Fleece or cotton blankets.
Like Saving Grace in Wake Forest, there’s are plenty of news and ways you can help. Have a look. Pass it on. Donate. Support. Join. Every little bit you give will go a long way. For more information, please visit our website.
