Nursing German Shepherd on the mend at Saving Grace after machete attack.
Saving Grace partners with a lot of rural shelters and when animals come in with significant injuries, they need immediate rescue or sadly end up euthanized. Rarely do we know the back story of how these animals experienced this trauma, but in the story of Blaz, we were at the shelter when she and her 6 puppies were brought in. This poor mama had suffered significant injuries after being hit in the head and the back of her neck with a machete. The Saving Grace team went into action to help this family and they are now on the road to recovery thanks to one of our amazing foster families.
Unfortunately, we see a lot of dogs like this and they don’t always have someone who is able to treat their injuries. Blaz’s former owner brought her and the puppies to the shelter because they couldn’t help her. The wounds will take weeks of healing and her vet costs are high, so we would appreciate any support! Please follow Saving Grace NC for updates on Blaz and her puppies.
Additionally, the man who attacked Blaz has been caught and charged.
