I know sometimes we sound like a broken record but at this moment in time we have a lot, and I mean a LOT of dogs in our program in need of some serious medical care. You name it, we have it, gunshot wounds, surgery for eye removals, broken bones and more.
On top of that we were asked to take on a neglect case today that is going to require a tremendous amount of effort and financial resources. These dogs will need immediate foster homes to have a chance at adoption. Many are heartworm positive, all require vaccinations, parasite treatment, monthly preventatives, antibiotics for infection, grooming as well as spay/neuter just to start with.
We’re starting from scratch as they have had no previous medical care. While we do our best to help our Animal Control partners to remove these dogs out of a bad situation so they do not burden our already crowded shelters, it impacts how many dogs we can take from the shelters who depend on Saving Grace to offer their dogs a chance for adoption . We are often these dogs only chance of making it to adoption and to live a better life.
All of this is a major undertaking and we can’t do it alone. We are asking for foster homes and donations to help keep hope alive for these and so many other dogs still waiting. Every little bit helps. Please consider a donation to benefit these deserving souls or helping in any way you can. Thanks in advance for your never ending support.
