“From the moment she met my husband, it was as if she had finally found her long-lost best friend. “ says Dani, who adopted Mary Ann shortly after losing a beloved dog to cancer. To her family, Mary Ann is known as “Wiggle-Butt”—a nickname she earned because her entire body shakes with joy the moment she sees you. “It’s impossible not to smile when you see it,” says adopter Dani.
Mary Ann shares her home with Dani’s 15‑year‑old Yorkie, and watching their bond grow has been incredibly sweet. Gentle and patient, Mary Ann has even started “guarding” Pebbles—and her family—from time to time, including any “intruding deer,” which never fails to make Dani smile. Mary Ann is a wonderful reminder of just how much love these dogs have to give.

Through it all, she remains incredibly loving, resilient, and full of life, She has brought laughter, comfort, and healing into our home at a time when we needed it most.
