Dublin – Our Recovery of the Month for October
He was lucky enough to score a freedom ride to Saving Grace but was going to need a little extra medical care to get him ready for adoption. He went to stay with two of our rockstar fosters, Jillian and Nick Radford, while awaiting treatment for his bad leg.
X-rays revealed that sweet Dublin was going to need an amputation of his right front leg. The damage could not be repaired surgically so this was the best option to alleviate his discomfort and allow him to live a life uninhibited by pain. He enjoyed the pampering and royal treatment at the Radford home until his surgery date.
Since his surgery Dublin has healed well and had an amazing recovery! Dogs never cease to amaze me with their ability to adapt to being on three legs and bounce back in record time! Truthfully many of these dogs were only using their three good legs to begin with, so having that fourth bad leg gone and no longer hindering their movement and causing them pain is somewhat of a blessing.
A huge part of Dublin’s successful recovery has been the love and care that he has received from Jillian and Nick. They have stepped up time and time again and always do a stellar job! Without all of our wonderful medical recovery fosters these success stories would not be possible. Thank you so much for all you do! Dublin will be returning to the farm in late September to find his forever home!
Happy Life Dublin!!
