STEP 1: Understand the responsibility
Make sure you understand how adopting a pet will impact your life.
STEP 2: Apply to Adopt
Once you’ve decided it is the right time and you are ready to adopt, start the formal adoption process.
STEP 3: Take them home
Once we agree you’ve found your new pet, pay your adoption fee, and take them home! We have some great resources to help smooth the transition!
STEP 4: Love them forever!
At Saving Grace, we want to make sure each of our dogs finds the best home possible for their particular circumstances. Not every dog would be suited for every family or situation.
We provide a unique adoption experience where you are partnered with an Adoption Counselor that makes suggestions and introduces you to dogs that fit your needs and profile. Once your adoption request is reviewed, you are invited to make an appointment to come and work with a counselor.
If all agree that there is a good match and the dog has ben vetted and is ready, you’ll get to take your new pet home. It doesn’t end there though! We’re here for you – whether it is advice on behavior issues, or supplies and swag you need from Saving Grace Supply Company!
Saving Grace is committed to bringing dogs from underserved communities together with families willing to help  these puppies and adult dogs  to reach their full potential to enjoy healthy, happy lives and provide loving companionship.
How is Saving Grace different?
Saving Grace rescues animals from rural animal control facilities. Before any of our dogs are put up for adoption, they are assessed and observed for behavior, vaccinated, spayed/neutered and, if necessary, treated for manageable medical conditions (heartworms, mobility issues, etc.). They are introduced to crate training, and also have lots of opportunities to play outside where they can socialize with other dogs and meet and interact with volunteers and visitors. Our volunteers give them lots of attention, affection, and positive reinforcement daily outside of their crates and kennels, which is important to their well-being.Â
Although we are a “shelter”, we provide a very different experience for our dogs and our adopters. As a potential adopter, you have the unique opportunity to interact with available dogs in an open environment – not only do you get to see what dogs may interest you, but the dogs will get a chance to show interest in YOU!
We encourage you to find out more about Saving Grace by attending one of our many events. Since the Farm is a private residence, appointments are required and are scheduled after completing the adoption request.

How do I know I’m ready to adopt from Saving Grace?
Adopting a pet comes with responsibility. A puppy is cute and cuddly, but also may make messes in your house, chew on things, and wake you up several times a night. An older dog – who has past the puppy phase may be a better fit for your house, but, since all our dogs are rescues, may still need a lot of attention and TLC to adjust.
