Host Update for sweetheart Speckles! See what her host said about their time with Speckles while she looks for her furever family: “Speckles is an absolute sweet heart with all other beings! She approaches people very gently, friendly with other dogs on our walks, (would give a little bark if they got too in her space, though not aggressive at all). I was cat sitting an older cat and at first she was fearful (cats can be intimidating), but then they would both nap on the couch and she would try to scoot closer to her because she just wanted to love her. Her leash skills will improve over time. They did in the short time she was with us. We took her out regularly and she would let us know if she needed to out by going to the window and or the then pace by the door. She did okay in the car. Started out standing but soon curled up in a ball and napped. She slept like a baby all night long on the pillow right next to me, tucked in and warm. She didn’t wake up through the night and even when I woke up she wanted to lounge a little longer.Speckles is a sweet soul. Once you show Speckles that she can trust you, she will want to be near you as much as she can. She will lovingly stare at you with her sweet brown eyes and in them you can see she is so full of pure goodness. Speckles was very gentle with any person who approached her and even more so with my elder cat. She has so much love to give and anyone would be so lucky to know such a sweet girl. Also worth noting she has the cutest floppy ears!” To meet Speckles, schedule an appointment by submitting an adoption request on our website's "Adopt" page. Host Update for our pal, Revere! See what his host said about their time with Revere while he looks for his furever family:"Revere is a fluffy ball of energy! During the weekend we went on two long hikes. He pulls a little on the leash but I am sure he will learn quickly not to. He was fine with other dogs and people around. After some positive reinforcement he barely pulled on the 2nd hike and mainly walked with slack on the leash. The long hikes worked miracles on him! He was so much calmer and relaxed. Napped for hours after. Loves cuddling and being pet. Has a few puppy behaviors to work on mainly jumping. He seems potty trained and never chewed on anything besides his toys. Also great in the car. He liked Milk Bones sometimes and loved cheese. With a little training Revere would be the perfect partner for an avid hiker". Come to Rex in hollysprings!!!
Should go out back to the long term care center there at Rex!
She was a mama first, and she’s still losing that baby weight, but now all she wants is to be a lap dog! Pizza is so grateful for all attention, loves playing with other dogs, and is hoping for a calmish household that maybe already has a doggo to show her the ropes. She’s got the leash thing down and is fine just strolling along! Belly rubs followed by a good nap are about her speed, and she also enjoys going out in public! She had no accidents on her sleepover and may be house-trained! Host Update for gentle Mimi! See what her host said about their time with Mimi while she looks for her furever family:"Mimi has been a delightful guest! She is very quiet, gentle and cuddly. Her shiny black coat is accented with brindle around her face and paws and she has the sweetest eyes. Mimi appears to be housetrained and she walks pretty well on a leash. She has cohabitated well with our rambunctious small dog, but didn't get involved in play. She may not be used to playing with toys. She likes to sit and quietly observe everything, especially the squirrels from the back porch! We do not have any cats or children so we are not sure how she interacts with them. Due to her timid nature I would say she'd thrive in a calm environment where everyone is very gentle with her. We took her to a brewery and she loved quietly receiving pets! Mimi is underweight and needed to be coaxed to eat here at our house. She seemed to feel more comfortable eating when we stayed nearby and pet her. Mimi is so sweet and we will miss her"!To meet Mimi, schedule an appointment by submitting an adoption request on our website's "Adopt" page.To host an amazing dog like Mimi, sign up for our host weekend sleepovers on our website's "Host a Dog"page: loom.ly/MG6X_8ILearn more about Mimi by checking out her bio on our website.https://loom.ly/Y0-1TFk#hostupdate #rescuedog #dogrescue #doglovers #happydog #adoptme #savinggracenc#dogsleepover #hostadog #foster ...
