Rudy

  • Breed: American-Staffordshire-Terrier
  • Gender: Male
  • Age: Adult
  • Size: Medium

So if we knew that Rudy was living in St. John before the hurricanes hit this fall, we are certain we would have hopped the first plane down to the tropics and stole him away for ourselves because he is that stinking awesome! While Rudy would rather forget all that rain, wind and yuck, he arrived in the United States and to the farm with his wonderful self to light up our worlds and is waiting for his perfect people to do the same for theirs! Rudy is an American Staffordshire mix who sports the somewhat blocky head of that breed but an adorable curly tail, yes we called his man tail adorable, and a smooshy face that speaks of extra skin and some wrinkles. Rudy is about 1-2 years old and a solid muscular 55 lbs though could use to add a few to fill out following that terrible weather event he would rather not mention. He has a handsome rusty colored coat and did we mention the smooshing one can do with this hunk of love?? When Rudy first arrived and got off the plane, he was a little anxious and worried to not have people within sight but has in short stay ditched all of his anxiety and thrown himself into regular meals, playtime with friends and exercise in the sun, though wonders why it gets so darn cold at night in his new home. Bathroom skills are a given, Rudy makes no messes. Rudy is a strapping athletic guy who has shown great manners and nothing but a gentle and sweet nature. Any kind of family would do for this young man, as long as there is a lot of love, snuggles and regular exercise. He may have been a stray in the islands, but this boy polishes up well enough for social events at the brewery or lunches in North Hills and remains down to earth enough to know that all that really matters in his life are his people and the joy they will bring him while he pays it back in spades! All puppies and dogs at Saving Grace are crate trained, have been spayed/neutered, are up to date on their vaccinations, are on heartworm preventative and have been microchipped. Their adoption fee is $350.00. Each has been carefully screened for disposition and temperament in order to provide your home with a safe companion that will enjoy life as your new family member. Our Adoption Application and Adoption Contract can be downloaded from our website savinggracenc.org or the Petfinder Homepage. If you are interested in meeting one of our dogs, please e-mail a completed Adoption Application to savinggrace@savinggracenc.org. An Application is required before setting up an appointment to meet with a potential adoptee or a foster home. Sending an Application does not commit you to an adoption, it simply provides us with background information on potential homes. Please review our Adoption Contract before sending an Application to ensure that you will be able to provide the requirements stated in the contract. The Contract must be signed at the time of adoption. Saving Grace is a small, non-profit 501-C3 organization operated by volunteers only. Most of our animals come from rural animal control shelters where lack of space and resources limit their time and adoption possibilities. Thank you for choosing Saving Grace! We look forward to helping you find your new companion and family member.
