  • Breed: Golden-Retriever / Australian-Shepherd
  • Gender: Female
  • Age: Adult
  • Size: Medium

For folks who think mutt means boring or lacking in attractiveness, we challenge you to believe that after meeting Sahara! Sahara is an amazing blend of two likely breeds, golden retriever and Aussie and wow do her looks stop you in your tracks. This beauty is about 1-2 years old and 40 lbs full grown. Her coat is beyond amazingly soft as well as fluffy in a fashion that one could only get by combining such amazing breeds and that is before she has even lived in a home and been well taken care of! Sahara is reddish brown in color and has some darker markings on her face as well as some extra fluff around her ears that is simply yummy! She also combines some of the best characteristics of her breeds in that she is sweet and kind to everyone and thing she meets but is also quite bright and motivated by personal connection with her people. Sahara enjoys a good throw down with canine friends and has a moderate energy level overall but would probably prefer the physical and intellectual stimulation that would come from being with her people and learning new things as well as going new places. Sahara could live happily with another dog but does not need one, the only thing she needs is two legged beings to follow who will exercise her daily and engage her in challenges like training and things like hikes and adventures. She is well on her way to learning about crate training and is not a Chatty Cathy in the crate as she likes to snuggle down with the best of them following time outside. While we here at Saving Grace encourage everyone to try not to judge a book by the cover, in this case it is entirely fair as this young lady is as amazing inside as she is outside! All puppies and dogs at Saving Grace are crate trained, have been spayed/neutered, are up to date on their shots, are on heartworm preventative and have been microchipped. Their adoption fee is $350.00. Each has been carefully screened for disposition and temperament in order to provide your home with a safe companion that will enjoy life as your new family member. If you are interested in meeting one of our dogs, please e-mail a completed Adoption Application to An Application is required before setting up an appointment to meet with a foster home and potential adoptee. The Adoption Application and Adoption Contract can be downloaded from the Petfinder Homepage or our new website at or by clicking on the links below: Click here to download an adoption request today. Click here to download an adoption contract. Click to see our events! Sending an Application does not commit you to an adoption, it simply provides us with background information on potential homes. Please review our Adoption Contract before sending an Application to ensure that you will be able to provide the requirements stated in the contract. The Contract must be signed at the time of adoption. Saving Grace is a small, non-profit 501-C3 organization operated by volunteers only. Most of our animals come from rural animal control shelters where lack of space and resources limit their time and adoption possibilities. Thank you for choosing Saving Grace!
