Leona

  • Breed: Hound
  • Gender: Female
  • Age: Adult
  • Size: Medium

Saw hello to about the sweetest, quietest and most gentle Walker Hound around, Leona! While her name might make you think of a little Italian lady slinging pizza in the Bronx, she is instead a long and lanky young lady of about 1 year and 30 lbs. Unlike those who have been eating pizza for years, Leona could use a few slices and needs to gain about 10 lbs to be at her ideal weight. Leona, unlike many hounds, is exceedingly quiet and has little to offer by ways of howls. She does have a nose for the news and therefore enjoys a good sniff and walk around the neighborhood though has been known to be up for 5 mile smell-athons. She has gotten rave reviews from weekend fosters for being able to fit in with pretty much any family and any mixture of dogs because she simply enjoys just being with anyone who is willing to provide company. Leona can be a bit shy upon meeting but has shown herself quick to warm up and especially if you are warming up a slice of that pizza by the way. She would adore a canine partner in crime and would also find herself quick friends with potential partners in crime in 2 legs and young energy. While she may have grown up in the country, Leona could easily become a city girl with a plush bed, a fancy harness and a nose for North Hills news or would be happy to sleep in a camper with a lantern and a good snuggle with her fav people. The only thing she really needs is you. All puppies and dogs at Saving Grace are crate trained, have been spayed/neutered, are up to date on their shots, are on heartworm preventative and have been microchipped. Their adoption fee is $350.00. Each has been carefully screened for disposition and temperament in order to provide your home with a safe companion that will enjoy life as your new family member. If you are interested in meeting one of our dogs, please e-mail a completed Adoption Application to savinggrace@savinggracenc.org. An Application is required before setting up an appointment to meet with a foster home and potential adoptee. The Adoption Application and Adoption Contract can be downloaded from the Petfinder Homepage or our new website at www.savinggracenc.org or by clicking on the links below: Click here to download an adoption request today. Click here to download an adoption contract. Click to see our events! Sending an Application does not commit you to an adoption, it simply provides us with background information on potential homes. Please review our Adoption Contract before sending an Application to ensure that you will be able to provide the requirements stated in the contract. The Contract must be signed at the time of adoption. Saving Grace is a small, non-profit 501-C3 organization operated by volunteers only. Most of our animals come from rural animal control shelters where lack of space and resources limit their time and adoption possibilities. Thank you for choosing Saving Grace! We look forward to helping you find your new companion and family member.
