Pebbles

  • Breed: Rat-Terrier
  • Gender: Female
  • Age: Young
  • Size: Small

Have you been wishing for a sweet, calm, laid-back adult dog who wants nothing more than to love and be loved by her forever family? One who is undemanding and just happy to be with her humans? Have we got the girl for you! Pebbles is an adult rat terrier who is 4 to 5 years old, with a gorgeous, sleek shiny tri-color coat and a happy demeanor. She is a voluptuous 18 pounds and needs to lose 3 to 4 pounds to reach her goal weight; nonetheless she is the perfect-sized travel companion and is always ready for an adventure. She has a leg deformity that may be the result of an improperly healed injury or a congenital defect, but a veterinary evaluation reveals that she bears weight and uses the leg properly; indeed it does not seem to slow her down at all. Pebbles came to Saving Grace via another shelter, and it was immediately apparent that she was frightened by the noise and activity at the Saving Grace farm, and pining for her past, quiet life in a home with her people. To ease her transition into rescue, Pebbles joined one of Saving Grace's foster families and was immensely relieved to be back in a house. Her sweet and charming personality shone right away, and she has proven herself to be a great girl - housebroken, well-mannered and grateful for kind words, a lap, a soft place to sleep, and lots of human company. She is working on her leash-walking skills, but stays close by when off-leash and rides great in the car. She follows her foster dad and mom around the house, and wherever they are is where she wants to be. While Pebbles is learning to enjoy walks with her foster family, she'd be very content with light exercise and expending most of her energy cuddling with her humans. She gets along well with other dogs and would be fine with a canine companion, or as an only dog spending the majority of her days in human company. Pebbles is patiently waiting for the right person or family to come along and show her that, this time, forever really means FOREVER. All puppies and dogs at Saving Grace are crate trained, have been spayed/neutered, are up to date on their shots, are on heartworm preventative and have been microchipped. Each has been carefully screened for disposition and temperament in order to provide your home with a safe companion that will enjoy life as your new family member. If you are interested in meeting one of our dogs, please e-mail a completed Adoption Application to savinggrace@savinggracenc.org. An Application is required before setting up an appointment to meet with a foster home and potential adoptee. The Adoption Application and Adoption Contract can be downloaded from the Petfinder Homepage or our new website at www.savinggracenc.org or by clicking on the links below: Click here to download an adoption request today. Click here to download an adoption contract. Click to see our events! Sending an Application does not commit you to an adoption, it simply provides us with background information on potential homes. Please review our Adoption Contract before sending an Application to ensure that you will be able to provide the requirements stated in the contract. The Contract must be signed at the time of adoption. Saving Grace is a small, non-profit 501-C3 organization operated by volunteers only. Most of our animals come from rural animal control shelters where lack of space and resources limit their time and adoption possibilities. Thank you for choosing Saving Grace! We look forward to helping you find your new companion and family member.
